Hanim Created a lovely post about how to link photos to the forum via picture hosting sites. However In November 2012 we changed our hosting so can everyone please host your images on this forum rather than linking ! This means we will never loose them.

Posting Pictures on the forum

Austarletclub offers picture hosting to all its members and below is a tutorial on how to upload your photos.

Step 1. - Formatting your image

Make sure your image is optimised for the forum. You want your pictures to be around 500 pixels for small images and a maximum of around 1000 pixels wide. This will stop the image streaching the forum width. There are many free image editing programs if you don't have photoshop.

Phixr is a free online photo editor. Easy to use, lots of effects and filters, directly connects to Facebook, Twitter, flickr and many more. No browser plugins

http://pixlr.com
Pixlr is a free online photo editor. Edit, adjust and filter your images. No registration jump right in!

If you want to link an image off say google. Better downloading it to your computer and reloading it to the forum rather than just linking it.

Also you want to make sure your image is the right file type. JPG, GIF PNG are ideal and will be the smallest size. You can use the above online programs to convert the image if yours is a Bitmap or something weird.

Step 2. Uploading your image

If your are replying to a post in the quick reply at the bottom of the window click "More Reply Options"
If you are starting a new topic you will already have the option to attach.

Attached File  1.jpg   7.92K   2 downloads

A. Below the area where you write your text there will be the option to Attach Files.
B. Click browse and located on your computer the image you want to upload and click open
C. The browser window will close and you want to click "Attach this file"

Step 2. Insert your image into the topic

When your images are uploaded successfully you will see a list of them just aboe the Attach files area.
To add these to your topic.

A. put your curser in the possition where you want to image to be inserted
B. Click "Add to Post"

Attached File  2.jpg   79.01K   0 downloads

You image will then look something similar to [ Attachment = name of file . jpg ]

And that's how you add Images to this forum so they will never be lost :)

Are you clicking More Reply options ? in the reply to topic window ?

Down the bottom of each topic you have your quick responce where you can type a quick reply, in the lower right hand side of that box you have "more reply Options"
