Hi,

this is my new little starlet that was meant to be my nice cheap daily, had it for one week and
it has begun already.

Mainly plan on suspension mods and turbo brakes with a few small power upgrades to keep me happy.

Fitted the wheels and tyres today, aiming for a low profile look.
still waiting for my whiteline sway bars front and rear and the castor bushes and camber bolts.
should get it handling ok with the king lows and konis.

I already have a serious evo2 race car and a silvia fun car but might do the odd hill climb in the starlet to razz up the big boys!

once you get some good power in the starlet, you may decide to keep the evo as a daily and the starlet as the 'serious' car.. heheh
i know i did with my GT-R32. Ended up selling it and keeping the starlet.
;-)

all fitted today pretty easily,

22mm whitleline front sway bar
new NGK ignition leads
Genuine rain guards
ST184 celica cup holder _small trimming required on each side

on the way I have rear sway bar, camber bolts and caster kit....hopefully have them by next week.

I also have a glanza turbo dash I want to fit in - link to how to?

also has anyone tried to fit a 89661-10140 from an ep82 into a 91?
I have one and I have heard the mapping is more aggressive? :/

done a bit more to the starlet lately, fitted a rear adjustable sway bar, front camber bolts+propper wheel alignment.
pacemaker extractors have also been fitted but still full stock exhaust at the moment.
handles quite well now with the rear sway bar now on medium.
rain guards also been fitted.

still have to fit the tacho dash, jdm inlet manifold, phenolic intake gasket, k&n filter. hopefully a few more ponies to be found.

made 43kw on the dyno today, interestingly it made more top end power with the intake pipe from the airbox to rsp
removed so I will add another onto the box. made the 43kw with it on though with 3deg extra timing.

Interesting! I always thought that pipe looked too small!

hi
just FYI
mine with extractors &exhaust dynoed 48kw & tuned on microtech @54kw 1st stage
2nd stage was corolla mani&T/B re-tuned to 59 KW
3rd stage was a P&P head / higher compression /c/shafts /ITB`s not any thing to talk about a disappointing 10% (66kw ) current
i have some installation issues to deal with before i can have another go on dyno
i believe there is a little more HP to be had from current set-up

No I havent fitted it yet lyle, I have the manifold,t/b and k&n to go on still. just waiting for my intake gasket to arrive.
I will do all of that and an extra/larger intake pipe to the airbox all at once.
I havent decided what to do with the exhaust as yet as its still totally stock, but I want it to be
nice and quiet....so 5kw extra with a full exhaust sounds close to me.

hi
ok do your mods in stages so you can see the increase per mod & which one s work the best
i shopped around &found an exhaust shop to fit a custom S/S system spec best flowing pipe size &muffler not paint tin style Rr muffler+ in line cat with min noise flanged joints rather than clamped
you should have similar result s to what i listed above after fitting mani &exhaust give or take a couple of KW`s

A few ups and downs,
Had some parts arrive so have started to fit a few.

Fitted the cusco brake master cylinder stopper today and it really feels great. now just need to fit the bigger
front brakes and braided lines to finish of the brake upgrades.

My thermal/phenolic intake gasket arrived with the bmcs so I can now fit
lyles intake manifold and throttle body and see how that goes.

I also received a K&N filter but it is incorrect sad.gif so back to square one on that one. are ep82 ones the same?

Did you make the master cylinder stopper yourself? Doesnt look like much to manufacture.

What does the master cylinder stopper do? Reduce pedal travel?

its a cusco one.
a bit of fiddling but it wouldnt be too tricky to make one.

it stops the firewall flexing when you press the brake pedal. unbraced it flexes a good 10mm or more.

It makes the pedal feel better, most cars benefot from them, some more than others......the starlet being pretty thin in the firewall
has benifited more than other cars I have fitted them on.

Purchased and fitted some tailored front and rear floor mats and a JDM/UKDM tubular inlet manifold with a thermal intake gasket(nylon).

Gasket makes a noticable difference to the temp of the manifold after a spirited drive .
bit of a mission but got it done as I had to swap the throttle bodies back over to the stock one.

Couldnt fit the mathcing throttle body for a few reasons. TPS was 4 pin not 3 pin and they didnt interchange, and I didnt have provision for the power steering idle up which I wanted to keep. bit of a shame really.

Feels a bit better on the road, so if I can feel it I would say its a decent difference. dyno on the weekend to check for improvements.

Also ordered a BMC CDA air box and intake system so I can remove the original air box and have a decent sized intake pipe to the front of the
car that doesnt go over the radiator.

Interior is starting to look a bit cleaner, really need to fit the glanza cluster
