ARP dont do head bolts for starlets. You have to use 4A ones and drill/retap them.

Otherwise you can organise a group buy of 20 sets of headbolts for ARP to start stocking them.

It wouldnt supprise me to be able to 20 people in on a group buy. Remember that they are light and can be sent worldwide for cheap. Ask on TGTT and im sure you would get quite a few responces.

Even i would get a set now smile.gif

yeah 4a-ge 20 valve 10mm hex head ARP studs can be used but head and block have to be taken out 2mm larger to accomodate them. stock bolts are 8mm.

I have 12mm 1JZ ones.... my advise - dont go that big lol

I used stock rods in the 5e, however we used honda ARP bolts. Out of three identical packets, 1 pack fit perfectly and the other two didnt. Just goes to show the imperfections even ARP have smile.gif

HI,
you were supposed to have 4age studs, the 2j ones were missed picked, so u got a 2j hsk for the price of a 4age hsk.

Std head bolt size is m9x1mm, very uncommon in the stud world.

Ps. The 20 valve studs are 10mm longer than 16 valve... smile.gif

Last time i spoke to them about this very subject i was told that they don't make 9mm hsk at all.
I would be very supprised that 20 sets would be enough for them to tool up for a one off stud, not to mention that they would have to make two studs for that kit.

If you have been told otherwise I would be keen to know.

If they will do them, dont forget there are a few ARP distributors in Aus, you guys shouldn't have to buy direct.

yes, the head had to be worked over fairly bigtime and then had to machine down a half dozen socket bits outside diameter just to get them done up lol.

10mm would be more than ample.
